Good to know
Do I need a GP referral?
Yes. Since July 2023, cosmetic surgery in Australia needs a GP referral. For hand and reconstructive surgery, a referral also lets you claim Medicare rebates where they apply. Your GP can send it to the rooms, or use our GP referral form.
What happens at the first consultation?
You meet Dr Thomas in person at our Moonee Ponds rooms to talk through your goals, your options and the risks. Cosmetic surgery needs two consultations and a cooling off period, so there is no rush to decide.
Should I choose Moonee Ponds or Malvern?
Choose whichever is easier for you to get to. You see Dr Thomas at both clinics, and you can change clinic later if that suits you better.
What does a consultation cost?
The rooms will tell you the consultation fee when you book. After your consultation you get a written quote for any surgery you discuss.
